If booking through an agency, the customer should always be aware if they are asked to pay in advance months before the rental date. The usual procedure through an agency is fifty percent in advance and the remaining fifty percent up to two months before the check-in date.
If unsure, ask for the company’s registration certification and banking information to ensure that the company and bank account are legitimate.
Avoid payments over the phone and make sure who you’re talking to: owner or someone from the reservations department, for example.
In my opinion, booking through a good agency versus a platform pays off, even if only for every extra minute spent on booking due to the personalized service and attention.
I’m not sure if there is an ‘ideal’ house or property, as it all depends on the style of each guest and the family in question. It depends on whether you like the outdoors, activities such as golf or vineyards, surfing or sailing, relaxation…
