THE PROPERTY
An old urban palace owned by the Taborda family, Lisbon Palace was a hot spot for esteemed European nobility and famous artists. Part of the structure can be dated back to the eighteenth-century and for those who want to continue the cultural experience, the National Museum of Art is a stone’s throw from the Palace’s doors. Oak panelled flooring, sweeping stone staircases and traditional Portuguese tiling combine to create an unrivalled regal feeling that is both unique and truly special.
The Palace is only available for entire rent. The bedrooms of this jaw-dropping eighteenth-century palace are decorated with a mixture of antique furniture, stucco ceilings and large fireplaces, whilst not compromising on modernity by all being kitted out with a flat screen TV. Huge floor-to-ceiling windows feature in many rooms and the beds are large and made up with only the most comfortable of materials. Some bedrooms boast incredible views of the Tagus River. Towelling and bedding is changed every day if you desire and a mouth-watering continental breakfast is served on the patio to entice you out of bed.
A stunning turquoise pool glistens in the grounds, a rarity for the middle of the city. Come back from a busy day sightseeing and kick back by the pool; you will feel transported to another place, as well as another era. Positioned at the end of the patio where it can enjoy the best of the day’s sun, the pool rarely needs to be heated. However, upon request it can be. A central courtyard features, creating a communal feeling of privacy that will once again sweep you away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A private chef and restaurant services are available if you please.
