Nestled between hill and sea, the steep hills and red-tiled roofs of Lisbon attract tourists from near and far. Lisbon is Portugal’s capital, and as such boasts a rich history as well as many trendy modern dining and other experiences.
THE VIEWS
Take a tour on the tram around the city to take in everyday life, or a trip up to the Sao Jorge castle, with its renowned views over the sea and the city. At night, the castle is illuminated, meaning its silhouette can be seen set against the city at all hours of the day.
The city is also host to many famous art museums and galleries, but whilst these shouldn’t be missed, perhaps Lisbon’s greatest charm is its ability to capture the heart of an explorer as they get lost along its many cobbled streets.
BEACHES 30MINUTES AWAY
Many beaches surround Lisbon, and most can be reached within about 30 minutes depending on traffic. Whether you’re more of a chic, shaded beach bar lover, or prefer to get involved under your own umbrella on the sand itself, there’s something for everyone.
