Revista Lifestyle Observador Magazine: Tree House Villa by CadenzaLux

A traditional house, thatched roof huts and a tree house, living testimony to a love that lasts. In this Comporta villa, among all the refinements of comfort, the greatest luxury is in the subtleties of life.

A treehouse can be many things, an adventure camp headquarters, a magical place to escape , or simply a love nest. For Júlia Nasi, it is a reminder of her aunt Pequenina Rodrigues, who built the treehouse for her niece before her unexpected death in 2015, and which today is shared with those who stay at the TreeHouse Villa, in the Comporta area.

“My aunt always said that I would love a Tree House...”, she tells us. “It was a big surprise, I adored it, and until now it has always been my room. There are bigger and more comfortable bedrooms, but the treehouse is where I have always wanted to stay. I want to wake up there. It's where I feel my aunt's love, it's where I feel closest to her”.

Only 14 steps separate the house from the ground, with windows on all but one side. The deck is the perfect spot for those relaxing moments: reading a book, chatting, having a drink, or just enjoying nature and listening to the birds singing.  At night it feels like you could almost touch the stars.  As Júlia says, the Tree House Villa is much more than a tree house; it is a space of peace and tranquility,  inherited by her mother, Ana Cristina Nasi, and today managed by the two of them.

The main house, with its traditional blue trim of Comporta, has a large common area, with kitchen and living room, with more than one fireplace to keep you warm on the coldest days. The ten bedrooms are spread out over a separate house and traditional thatched roofed cabanas, all of them exquisite! Here the simplicity in the finishes is what makes it so luxurious. The use of natural materials, like cane and reed, connect you to the beautiful surroundings and the views across the rice paddies, that border the Sado river estuary and the fishing port of Carrasqueria, are simply breathtaking.

The use of natural materials prevails, many of them recycled by the previous owner who bought the land in 2007 and transformed it into the stunning property it is today.

Natural materials prevail here, many of them recycled by the first owner, who bought the land in 2007, with just a small house, and would transform the space into what it is today.

Outside there are 2 swimming pools, one for children and one for adults, both made from micro cement, and a huge wooden deck from which to enjoy the views. There is also an outdoor firepit and several dining areas where Ana Cristina uses flowers and colourful crockery to create the perfect ambiance.

The villa reflects the emotional connection of Pequenina Rodrigues and her sister, Ana Cristina, to Comporta, where they had spent their summer holidays since the 1970’s. Julia says that her aunt had always wanted to own property in the area but had found it almost impossible to find exactly what she was looking for. Finally in 2007 she found the land that had the energy she was looking for. Of the small house that originally existed on the land only memories remain. In this beautiful place, both soulful and refined and in perfect harmony with its surroundings the exquisite taste of its former owner is clear to see.

From the immaculate embroidered bed linen and beds built from reused wood to the stunning bathrooms and bar made from a carpenter’s bench! Today the Tree House Villa is only available to rent as a whole. Most of the guests are foreigners. There are also those who come to Comporta to get married and stay at the Villa for the week of preparations. Many newlyweds choose to send their wedding night in the tree house.

Guests do not have to worry about a thing! A private chef is available to cook a wide variety of dishes, from pastas and salads to Portuguese specialties like octopus and cod. Daily cleaning is available as well as a concierge service to take care of all your needs, from renting beach beds to booking hairdressers and manicures! The aim being that guests only have to worry about enjoying themselves!!
